The best way to measure the strength durability of these three types of roofing materials was to carry out a drop test with a simulated roof slate. The slate was dropped from a height of 3.5 metres in a safe and controlled environment. The Bitumen and Rubber roofs both ended up with damage that compromised the watertight surface but our GRP roofing remained intact with only minor damage to the topcoat and most importantly it retained its watertight surface.
